1881. NGC graded Proof 67 Cameo. If you look closely, you'll see some really faint hairlines and some tiny slides across Liberty's cheek, but the grade does not really seem exaggerated if you step back a moment and realize that this coin is completely untoned, white and cameoed, meaning that there's just nothing on it to cover these tiny, tiny faults. Such things probably reside on other superb Proofs as well, that are toned. It's just a fact of life that people have touched these big, beautiful coins for many years now, and perfection is hard to preserve. Whatever you think of it, you will have to end up admiring this coin's qualities.
