A Colorful Limoges Plate, c. 1900. The oval plate with ornate arabesqued and scalloped edges, richly embellished in fired gold, with similar gold-enhanced raised traceries creating a border around the central color vignette. Center image a quality transfer print of two cherubs amusing themselves with some floral sprays. One blonde, with blue drapery, the other brunette, with red drapery. A tambourine lays near the foot of the former. Plate very well preserved, with probably 98 per cent of the gold remaining. On plate's underside, in green, the emblem of a swift holding a banner, marked: "Limoges, France." In red, a circular mark, also "Limoges, France," with AK over CD at center. Width: 11". If you love angels, you'll find this heavenly!
