German Posters and Programs. Four posters, two programs and a flyer: (1) Circus Wilhelm Hagenbeck. [1949], 16½ x 11½ in., printed. Announcing its appearance in Hamburg, Germany "for the first time after the war." (2) Strassburger Circus [c. 1953], 11½ x 33 in. Announcing its appearance in Mannheim. In business since 1650. (3) Gross Circus A. Fischer, [1954], 12 x 33 in. Announcing its appearance at Berg.-Gladbach. "A Family Tradition For 80 Years." (4) Circus Barlay, [c. 1950s], 16½ x 24 in. Photo offset. Announcing that it is coming to Berlin and featuring a rearing horse, surrounded by six vignettes of acts involving horses. (5) 4-page program for Zelt-Circus Busch-Berlin, [1942], 11 x 8½ in. with colorful photo offset circus images on front and back. (6) 4-page program for the Strassburger Circus' appearance at Gerolstein, [c. 1956], 8¼ x 12 in. (7) One page flyer for Circus Strassburger, 11¾" x 8¼ in., [c. 1950s]. Condition of the items varies from B+ to C, most of the blemishes being fold splits (easily repaired), edge tears, and toning. (7 items).
