Columbian World's Fair, Chicago, 1892-1893. Splendid Columbus Silk Ribbon or Bookmark. On white ground, black and white portrait of the navigator, along with all the usual banner-draped American eagle, "Discoverer of America," a view of the Santa Maria, etc. Overall condition choice, with faint yellowing at ends, and a minor split in one course of the cloth's warp. Colors and tassel vivid. And another similar, but this above crossed American and Spanish Flags. Some staining to this piece. Both nicely framed under glass. Largest: 11-3/4"; Framed Size: 16" x 7-1/2". Lot of 2. Cf. Rossen & Kaduck, p. 52, no. 1.
