Lot 1221

Columbian World's Fair, Chicago, 1892-1893. A Group of Fair Memento Badges. Two have globes, and another likewise displays the ship, Santa Maria but is designed like a sheriff's badge. Another, similar, but with portrait of Columbus. One more portrait piece has the Machinery Hall on reverse. Last, and best, an aluminum disc showing the explorer next to a globe, and pointing to America; the reverse with landing scene and a view of the Administration Building. This looped to a dramatic patriotic eagle, in bronze and once silver plated. All show varying degrees of use -- some less, some more. Cf. Rossen & Kaduck, p. 26, nos. 14, 15, 16.
Estimated Value $150 - 250.
