Lot 1200

Collector's Spoons. A Group of Eleven Different Spoons, Most with Views of Churches. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with many being gilt, some with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. Two impressively imperial looking pieces have fully enameled faces to the handles. The best from Vienna, gilded, and showing St. Stephan's Cathedral, along with black-edged white textured handle displaying the Hapsburg coat of arms. From Paris, "La Madeleine," with Napoleonic-style handle in light blue, the hand painted arms of Paris surrounded by fired gold wreath. Other sites include the Cologne Cathedral, along with those from Regensburg and Munich, plus Notre-Dame, a view of Bethlehem, and a spoon from Oberammergau. Spoons mostly early 20th century, a few around mid-century, and show light to moderate use. An attractive, and "uplifting" offering. Lot of 11.

Estimated Value $200 - 300.
