Lot 1986

$3 Gold. 1880. PCGS graded MS-65. A dazzeling semi-prooflike rose gold gem with fiery golden highlights. This beauty is certainly one of the finest specimens we have ever seen of this popular low-mintage date. The demand for the 1880 is perennial, and with the qualities just described, this coin will no doubt engage a great amount of interest. The PCGS population census lists 9 in this grade with 3 higher. We cannot image any having more eye-appeal than this one. (PCGS # 8002) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 12,500.

Realized $11,500
