Pertinax, 193 AD. AR Denarius 193 AD., plus other Late Roman Silver. A value lot, well worth looking at. Alexandria mint. Laureate head of Pertinax right. Reverse: Ops seated left, holding grain ears. RIC --; BMCRE 21(?); RSC 33a. Plus, an Antoninianus of Julia Maesa, 218-224 AD.: Diademed. draped, and lunate bust right / Pietas standing left (RIC 264). Also, an Antoninianus of Hostilian, as Caesar, 251 AD.: Childish bust right, radiate and draped / Mars in military attire, advancing right (RIC 177b). And last, an Argenteus of Galerius as Caesar, 293-305 AD., c. 295-297 AD.: Laureated head right / Tetrarchs before camp gate (Vagi 2806). Pertinax, the flan a little ragged, and the metal a touch grainy -- with interesting "Alexandrian" portrait. Maesa, metal also a tad grainy, with residual luster. Hostilian of fine style front and back; the centers a trifle weak, or just wear? With residual luster, and very pleasing. Galerius with some staining, and narrow flan crack. Lot of 4. Pertinax almost Very Fine, rest Very Fine or better.
