Macrinus, 217-218 AD. AR Denarius, Rome, struck 218 AD. Laureate and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: Securitas left, leaning against column, holding scepter. RIC 35; BMCRE 54. Nice portrait on good metal. Also, a Denarius of Julia Soaemias, mother of Elagabalus, c. 220 AD.: Draped bust right / Venus enthroned left, holding apple; child right, standing at her feet. RIC 243; RSC 14. Both coins lustrous. Lot of 2 coins. Both Choice Very Fine, or better.
