Pontos, c. 2nd-1st century BC. Lot of Seven Assorted Bronzes. Excellent material for the beginner. A handsome group of differing types from various mints. AE 29-30 mm.: Head of Athena right, with elaborate crested helmet / Perseus holding head of Medusa; from Amisos (SGC 3637), and Sinope (SGC 3707). Also two of: AE 23 mm., Aegis with Gorgon head at center / Nike right; from Amisos (SGC 3653), and Sinope (SGC 3709). Also from Amisos: AE 30 mm., Zeus head / Eagle (SGC 3636); Dionysos head / Cista mystica (SGC 3640); and, AE 20 mm., Helmeted head of Ares / Sword in sheath (SCG 3643). All carefully cleaned and nicely patinated. An attractive group overall. Lot of 7 coins. Coins range from Very Fine to about Extremely Fine.
