1896 Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 66. Deeply frosted on the obverse devices, with blast white centers and a ring of gold at the periphery. The reverse is more mottled, with smoky light gold and yellow hues. Especially clean surfaces that show no signs of handling or abuse. PCGS has graded 21 this high, with 21 graded higher from the original mintage of 762.
Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,500.
From the Benson collection and purchased from B. Max Mehl's auction on November 23, 1945 for $12.00.
