Apollo-Soyuz Test Project: Comprehensive Collection of Signatures, Philatelic Covers/Stamps/Ephemera, Both US & Soviet Union 195+ Pieces. Likely the best collection of signatures with a stunning diversity in commemorative covers and stamps commemorating ASTP we have ever offered. Incredible patience at work here in gathering such a deep and diverse collection of 185+ covers, stamps (both from the US and Soviet Union celebrating the landmark joint project in space. Nine signed covers of which: Four (4) covers (one is a fold out piece) have signatures of all five crewmen: Tom Stafford, Vance Brand, Deke Slayton, Alexei Leonov and Valeri Kubasov and are First Day Issues for the 10¢ stamps. There are two Russian covers with stamps and commemorate the mission and boldly signed by Leonov and Kubasov. Vance Brand alone has signed a Russian Cover and US Cover, Stafford and Kubasov, the two commanders have signed a cover, Kubasov has signed commemorative cover and finally a Stafford signed cover with two other Cosmonauts, Shatalov and Yeliseiyev. Know all of these are in excellent condition, bold signatures, very clean covers.
The other covers are absolutely fantastic, a large and diverse collection of different cachets, many we have never seen before. Some of the cachets may be the same but note the postmarks are different recognizing the different accomplishments during the mission, most especially the linking. This also true for scores of Russian postmarked covers.
Also included in this collection is a table top presentation of a Soviet and US Commemorative Stamp and a one ounce Sterling Silver Proof Limited Edition Medallion and two sets of the Apollo-Soyuz Mission: Three (3) five inch patches each having a different set of initials for the US astronaut and Five (5) three inch patches each with the intials of one of the five Soviet/American crew's initials which are not commonly found.
Finally a segment of FLOWN Kapton Foil removed from the ASTP Command Module on COA by Ken Havekotte, two original NASA ASTP press kits one signed by Leonov and finally a $1 bill signed by all three of the American crew, Stafford, Brand and Slayton.

This is an outstanding collection for every level of collector or dealer, a completist's dream collection. Estimated Value $1,250 - UP
From The Collection of Alden T. Barnes.
