Lot 855

25 Multiple Signed Covers of 65 Covers Commemorating Project Gemini Including Cooper, Gordon, Conrad, Cernan, Young, Lovell and Borman. 65 Commemorative Gemini Covers including 25 multiple signatures of Cooper Gordon, McDivitt, Collins, Borman Conrad, Schirra, Stafford, Lovell, Cernan, Young and Robert Gilruth (first director of Manned Spacecraft Center. Also included are 40 unsigned commemorative covers with many boasting a variety of postmarks specific to the Navy recovery ships that plucked the astronauts from the ocean. It appears most recovery ships are represented in the collection. There is one cover, a memoriam to John F. Kennedy signed by John Glenn and again Robert Gilruth.

Also included in this lot are two letters from the National Air and Space Museum Assistant Director, F.C. Durant, one dated 1967, the other 1975 answering very specific questions regarding the Gemini IV capsule on display with photos included. Interesting content.

An excellent lot for dealers and collectors alike. Estimated Value $600 - UP
