Detlev Van Ravenswaay: Three Original Acrylic Art Works Used in Popular Science Fiction Publications (1956-) German artist, still active, known for his striking and imaginative works capturing the science of the cosmos. 1.) "End of the Planetary System" (1992) a phenomenally appealing science fiction landscape in reds and oranges that evidently found its way in several publications. Original acrylic and watercolor on board, 16 x 21½" 2.) "Horsehead Nebula in Orion" (1993) original artwork where photographs of the piece were offered by image banks for use in popular science publications. 15½ x 21½". 3.) "In the Rings of Neptune" (1994) original acrylic and watercolor that boasts a vivid almost 3-D effect that is remarkable. Again offered by image banks for use in science publications. 15½ x 21". All three works have Van Ravensway's label on verso and all stating "Buyer of this painting agrees not to reproduce for any commercial use or product until 1999."
