Lot 465

Edison Concert Phonograph Case and Some of the Parts, A Perfect Candidate for Restoration + Concert Cylinder Collection. The Edison Concert Phonograph was a landmark attempt to improve the quality and volume of sound from early players. The fat cylinders were not an attempt to increase playing time, but rather an attempt to increase volume through greater surface speed. The players are seriously in demand by collectors worldwide and intact can command high prices. Offered in this lot is a wood case for the Concert Phonograph and a few pieces including the large metal cylinder from the player. For the intrepid collector and restorer, this is a fine start in rebuilding one of these players. Also included are 5 Concert Cylinders still in original round containers. Estimated Value $400 - UP

Realized $576
