1812 Close 5 D. BD-2, Rarity 4+. NGC graded AU-58. A nice boldly struck example with considerable luster, a good strike and attractive surfaces. Light golden toning. The close 5 D is much scarcer as a variety than the wide 5 D. Only a touch of wear on the high points, and a coin which barely circulated before being saved.
