Blank Planchet for Large Cent. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. The surfaces are smooth except for the usual tiny nicks or chips that usually disappear when the planchet is struck. The rims are upset (Breen's stage II). Diameter 27.5mm; weight 163.0 grains. The width of the upset rims suggests this planchet was intended for a Mature Head type of large cent (1843-1857).
