1808 S-279 R1. PCGS graded VF-35. Glossy chocolate and olive brown with slightly lighter steel brown toning on the highpoints. Looks flawless to the unaided eye but there are some microscopic specks of greenish verdigris scattered over the reverse, mostly on the upper half. The obverse is choice, just lightly worn. LDS. The fields are flowlined and most of the dentils are gone. Our grade is VF25+. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Ramont-Brown-Ellsworth provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 4 finer: 1 in 58, 1 in 61, 1 in 64, 1 in 66. (PCGS # 36463) Value $1,900 - UP
