Lot 226

1825 N-9 R2. PCGS graded MS-62 Brown. Frosty medium steel and light olive. Satiny mint luster covers this cent and the eye appeal is excellent. Looks choice but there is a very light scuff of microscopic diagonal hairlines on the cheek. Otherwise this cent is flawless. The best identifying mark is a tiny spot of lighter tan toning over the right side of the 5. LDS with a fine die crack from the dentils over star 3 to the forelock. The die rust of the earlier die state has been polished off the die. A beautiful cent with solid mint state eye appeal. Graded AU55 net AU50 by Noyes, his photo #21242. Del Bland says MS60. Our grade is net AU58. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 9 finer: 2 in 63, 5 in 64, 2 in 65. (PCGS # 36805) Value $1,750 - UP
