Lot 1576

1812. PCGS graded MS-63. CAC. PQ. Here is a prize example of this date which offers full mint luster, a sharp strike and gorgeous color. Excellent surfaces throughout, and a delight to examine. The reverse die shows a long arcing raised line from some unknown injury to the die itself early in its production, and this feature is seen on a majority of the 1812 half eagles. This one is boldly struck and frosty, with no detracting marks or abrasions. Scarce and quite desirable! Only 58,087 struck. Pop 48; 58 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 8112) Value $18,000 - 19,000

Unsold
