Lot 31

1817 N-15 R4 PCGS graded AU58. Choice frosty steel brown and chocolate. The surfaces are satiny and nearly free of marks, and this cent has outstanding eye appeal. Two tiny diagonal streaks of darker toning on the N in ONE and a pair of tiny ticks off the left end of the line under CENT can help identify this cent, but those marks are insignificant. MDS with a fine die crack connecting stars 1-3 and die clashmarks on both sides. A premium example of this tough die variety. Graded AU50 by Del Bland. Noyes says AU50 sharpness net EF45, his photo #31516. Our grade is EF45+, very close to AU50. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $1,250 - UP
