Lot 29

1817 N-13 R1 AU55. Choice glossy light chocolate and steel brown with hints of underlying frosty golden tan faded down from mint color in protected areas on the obverse. This cent has superior eye appeal, just a hint of friction on the highest points from mint state. The only notable marks are a small tick on the neck under the earlobe and a tiny planchet lamination (as struck) at the dentils above the I in AMERICA. Nicely struck E-MDS. The die line connecting the bases of the I and C in AMERICA is strong and the fields are starting to show fine radial flowlines. Probably from the Randall Hoard of mint state cents. Noyes photo #28665. Estimate Value $600 - UP
