Lot 21

1817 N-8 R2 PCGS graded AU58. Very attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Frosty mint luster covers the protected areas on both sides and this cent has great eye appeal. The only mark is a small, shallow planchet flake near the dentils at star 7, as struck. MDS with a tiny spike up to the left from the top of the head, the so-called "Finger Mouse or Peeking Mouse" break (which is larger in the later die state). The area below star 5 is starting to sink and become rough, as always in the later die states of the variety. A choice cent. Our grade is EF45. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $750 - UP
