Lot 3

1783 Chalmers Shilling with Short Worm PCGS Graded XF45. Rather glossy light to medium gray and steel blending to slightly darker steel gray in the protected areas. Nicely centered and well struck. The only defects are a small punch mark near the device left of SHILLING and another at the dentils left of the first A in ANNAPOLIS. While these two marks are visible to the unaided eye they were not significant enough to keep the graders at PCGS from assigning a high grade to this rare colonial issue. Pop 8; 7 finer, 3 in 50, 2 in 53, 2 in 55. Estimate Value $9,000 - UP

Unsold
