Great Britain. Bronzed Proof Farthing, 1839. BMC-1557. Victoria. Reverse inverted. Obverse, bust of queen left by Wyon. Reverse, Britannia seated, ornate spray of flowers below. A lovely mint state Proof. Many times rarer than the usual (reverse upright) version of the 1839 farthing. Peck describes this as VR (very rare) whereas the regular type is S (scarce) by comparison. Extremely difficult to replace. Very Rare. NGC graded Proof 65 Brown. Estimate Value $800 - 1,000
