Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 110

Lot 1157

1911-D, Strong D. PCGS graded MS-62. Beautiful rich golden toning and free of all but minr signs of bag handling. The majority of these entered circulation unnoticed, as mintages were not generally followed by the early collectors of the day. Furthermore few collectors could afford to collect this series as these were produced, so most were seen as simply another gold quarter eagle. Generations later, when collecting gold coins be much more popular this low mintage key became the focus of the Indian Quarter eagle set, and the grade which is obtained to represent this key date 1911-D, generally defines the qualtiy of the entire collection. This pleasant mint state coin will cetainly find many bidders who desire its charms (PCGS # 7943) Estimate Value $7,000 - 7,500
