Julian II, 360-363 AD. Gold Solidus, Antioch mint. Bearded bust, diademed, draped, and cuirassed right. Reverse: Julian in military attire right, holding tropaium, seizing captive by hair. S. 4066 var.; C. 79. Also a Solidus of Valens, 364-378 AD., also Antioch mint: Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Valens in military attire frontal, holding labarum and Victory on globe, cross in left field; S. 4104 var.; C. 35. Both coins mounted in reeded edged, screw-close, 14 kt. yellow gold bezels. Julian with modest graffiti; Valens, the flan a little wavy. Lot of 2 coins. Julian, Nice Fine; Valens, about Very Fine.
