Lot 195

1794 S-65 R1 ANACS graded VF35. Medium chocolate brown and steel. The surfaces are decent but a glass reveals extremely fine granularity on all but the highpoints of the obverse, which are smooth. The obverse is slightly glossy while the reverse is closer to matte. A small patch of microscopic carbon under the eye is the only notable mark. Might benefit from a proper brushing to bring out some of the natural gloss on the reverse. MDS, Breen state IV, with a couple fine die cracks on both sides but the crack from the bust tip to the dentils has not formed. The date is bold and the legends are clear. Our grade is VF30 sharpness net VF20. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
