Chinese Banshan Majiayao Gansu Neolithic Pottery Jar, 4th-3rd Millennium BC. Bulbous body gradually narrowing to a flat circular base. Short neck and two simple loop handles. Reddish terracotta with black polychrome geometric designs. No visible repairs. Minor earthen deposits around base.

Height: 12 in.; diameter at widest point: 8¾ in., at opening, 3½ in. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
