Lot 419

1852. NGC graded MS-66+. This is an incredible coin. First off, its a scarce 1852 half dollar, the vast majority of these were melted as soon as they were were released in to circulation as the value of the silver in the planchets was roughly 7 percent over the stated 50 cents value of the coin. Not only did this stunning coin not get melted, but it was carefully preserved and retains its glittering luster and outstanding surfaces. Without a doubt, this coin is one of the very finest known, and will be a highlight of any advanced date set. Boldly struck with lovely toning on both sides. Only 77,130 struck. Pop 1; 2 finer in 67. Estimate Value $17,000 - 19,000
