1856. NGC graded Proof 66. Golden bluish peripheral toning emerging on both sides, gracing the bright reflective fields and frosty white centers. A beautiful gem proof. It is curious to note that the die chosen to coin these proofs shows some minor doubling, which can be seen on the shield and on Liberty's dress folds. The reverse proof diagnostics include a heavy die file line to the top of R of AMERICA. Only 50 struck, with 30 to 40 examples estimated to have survived according to PCGS Pop Report.
