Dalí, Salvador: "Menorah" -- Magnificent Gilt Bronze on Jerusalem Stone Base (1904 - 1989) Salvador Dalí proved one of the most celebrated and recognizable surrealists of the 20th Century. His original works on display in museums worldwide and his impact in paintings, sculpture, and photography left an indelible mark. In addition to meticulously painting fantastic composition, such as The Accommodations of Desire (1929) and the melting clocks in his famed "The Persistence of Memory" (1931), Dalí was a prolific writer and early filmmaker, and cultivated an eccentric public persona with his flamboyant mustache, pet ocelot, and outlandish behavior. Fortunately, Dali was not adverse to commerce and made available his works in limited editions. His " PEACE MENORAH" proved immensely popular with collectors. Standing 16½" tall and 20¼" with base of Jerusalem stone, this work embodies the command that defined his work. In excellent condition. Piece is signed Salvador Dalí at base and is 9 of 250. Sculpture weighs 31 pounds and is in excellent condition. Yes, Menorah is functional and calls for short tapered candles. Estimate Value $3,000 - UP

Realized $3,328
