17 Vintage and Exquisitely Cast Promotional Medallions, Most in Bronze or Brass. A group of 17 items, including a beautiful plated bronze medallion featuring Mercury on the recto, by Arthur Lee; used by Lehmann Brothers or their 100th anniversary (1950). A plated brass medallion of Ulysses S. Grant (like the gold one given to him by Joint Resolution of Congress) commemorating his victory at Vicksburg. Another medallion honors Thomas Truxtun, who took part in the Quasi War with France (1798-1800) and became a commodore. Other medallions promote Bausch and Lomb, U.S. Air Force Lockheed F-80, San Gabriel Dam Number One, labor leader Samuel Gompers, Telephone Pioneers of America, Hampden County Memorial Bridge, Indianapolis Sesquicentennial, Wanaque Project, Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co., Japan Airlines Trans Pacific Service 25th Year, Del E. Webb Construction Co., Caterpillar, and the Singer Building. Also, a souvenir stack of shingles from Stimson Mill, and a small bale of "hay" from Georgia Casualty Co. Estimate Value $200 - UP
