Oliver, Myron Angelo -- Outstanding and Celebrated Coastal California Artist. Fishing Boat, Monterey Harbor (1891-1967) Celebrated artist of landscapes, cityscapes, the California coastline and Eastern seaboard. Oliver was a long time resident of Monterey, California, who began painting at a young age, studied art at Stanford then New York City at the Art Students League. He joined the Army and fought in WWI, married a fellow art student and returned to Monterey where he founded the Carmel Art Association. He painted most of his life as well as pursuing his interests in fine frames and furniture making. Offered here is a beautiful watercolor on paper of a fishing boat in Monterey Harbor. Here one can clearly see his command for detail as well as his ability to capture color and light typical of the gorgeous California coast. Work measures 9 x 12", recently matted and framed in Monterey to 15 x 18". Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
