Barbara Stanwyck's talents and acclaim is stronger now than anytime during her career with cineasts all over the world. Beginning with her Pre-code films like BABY FACE and BITTER TEA OF GENERAL YEN through the 40s with THE LADY EVE and DOUBLE INDEMNITY, into the 50s with EXECUTIVE SUITE and TITANIC and successes later such as THE THORN BIRDS, Stanwyck is almost without equal. Herbert Marshall, likely not as well known to the contemporary movie audience, but again with classic film buffs simply starring in Ernst Lubitsch's TROUBLE IN PARADISE is enough.
