1871 Pattern Silver Dollar. Copper, reeded edge. Judd-1135. Pollock-1272. Low Rarity 7. NGC graded Proof 64 Red & Brown. Wonderful blue and brown colors. Well struck and choice. The obverse shows a full figure of Liberty, seated on a rock and facing left, her right hand holds a pole with a slaves cap of freedomatop, while her left hand rests on a glove inscribed LIBERTY in raised letters. Thirteen stars surround the periphery, with the date below. For the reverse an open agricultural wreath is seen, tied with a bow at the base, within reads 1 / DOLLAR with STANDARD above. These elegant designs are boldly struck on this copper canvas, and graced by the most lovely shades of velvet blue and tan, which accent the complex devices. Pop 2; none finer in RB at NGC.
