1838 Pattern Half Dollar. Silver, reeded edge. Judd-80. Pollock-87. NGC graded Proof 64. Low Rarity 7. Nice toning on both sides There are only 4 confirmed specimens of this rare issue as noted on US Patterns.com. The present example is a handsome rendering of the Liberty Seated obverse die, no drapery below elbow, combined with a flying eagle reverse. The striking is soft on the eagle, as normally seen. A rare and desirable issue, and a pleasing coin overall. Pop 1; 1 in 65. (PCGS # 11332) Estimate Value $16,000 - 18,000
