Lot 380

1804 S-266a R4+ VG8. Sharpness F12 but covered with fine granularity on all but the highpoints, which are smooth. The notable marks are a couple dents in the field just before the neck and another hidden in the leaves right of T in CENT. These dents were strong enough to cause a subtle bulge on the opposing side of the planchet. The date is strong and the legends are complete. EDS, Breen state I, before any die cracks or cuds. An acceptable example of this tough date. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP

Realized $1,880
