1908. NGC graded Proof 67. A nice superb gem Matte Proof. This is the first year of issue of the Indian quarter eagle design. Only 236 struck, which is a paltry sum for the first year of issue of new coinage design in Proof, even for a gold coin! The majority of the known survivors in Matte Proof fall into the respectible PR64 or 65 grade range, while Superb PR67 pieces like the one offered quite elusive by comparison.
