Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 100

Lot 1158

1845-D. PCGS graded MS-60. The obverse and reverse are well struck and untoned. Lots of luster visible in the fields while the surface marks are minimal for the assigned grade. This is a rare issue to find in any grade of mint state, as most of the original mintage was released and entered circulation unnoticed and stayed there for years and years. Only a handful of coins apparently survived in mint condition. All Dalhlonega gold from this era is popular, especially when found this nice. Only 90,629 struck. Pop 3; 19 finer, 12 in 61, 3 in 62, 3 in 63, 1 in 65. (PCGS # 8224) Estimate Value $5,000 - 5,500

Realized $6,169
