1838-C. PCGS graded EF-45. Untoned coin. This is a truly early Charlotte Mint issue, struck in their first year of production. The C mintmark is located above the date--a short-lived and intruiging placement. The strike is sharp, and the surfaces show only light scattered marks as expected from brief circulation.
