Liberty Nickel. 1886. NGC graded MS-66. One of the sleeper dates of the series, which is always overshadowed by its big brother, the 1885. However, when one sees that NGC has only graded 4 this high, with none higher, that makes this date far rarer in this state of preservation. Well struck on all but a few stars, which don't show complete radial lines. Excellent original mint brilliance, and undiminished by toning or time, just a whisper of haze in the fields. An exceptional coin in pristine condition.
