1827 N-7 R3 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Gorgeous light olive and bluish steel brown with a few tiny peeps of faded mint color on the obverse and 5% of the reverse showing brighter mint red. The surfaces are lustrous and nearly flawless offering exceptional eye appeal. The only mark is a light diagonal nick in the field midway between the chin and star 3. Otherwise this cent is a solid gem. Sharply struck E-MDS. The die crack at stars 4-7 is faint and the small dashes near the dentils right of the second S in STATES are visible. A beautiful cent. Graded MS65 and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #20499. Bland says MS63 and tied for CC#1. Our grade is MS63+, close to MS64. Comes with a wonderful provenance that includes many of the legends of Large Cent collecting. The attribution and Naftzger-Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
