1796 NC-1 R6 Draped Bust, Reverse of 1797 PCGS Genuine, Fine Details, Environmental Damage. Slightly glossy very dark steel with lighter chocolate brown toning on the highpoints. The surfaces are covered with fine to moderate roughness but there are no marks or traces of verdigris. The highpoints are smooth thanks to light burnishing. LDS, Breen state II, with a die crack through the bases of TY in LIBERTY into the field right of the Y. The date and legends are complete and easily readable. Not perfect but not too bad for this very rare variety. About two dozen are known. Our grade is VG7+ sharpness net G4. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
