1840 N-2 R2 Small 18 over Large 18 PCGS graded AU53. Frosty medium steel brown and chocolate. The luster is a bit subdued by a thin layer of natural oxidation, but it still shows through in the protected areas. The sharpness is near mint state but tiny contact marks are scattered over the obverse, none notable but too many for the sharpness grade. M-LDS, die state b. The Small 18 over Large 18 feature is obvious and there is a narrow rim cud under the 840. Our grade is net EF45. The attribution and Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
