Lot 343

1839 N-8 R1 Type of 1840 PCGS graded AU58, CAC Approved. Attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Frosty luster shows in the fields and protected areas and the cent offers mint state eye appeal in spite of a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. The best identifying marks are a couple tiny spots of darker toning near the eye and another nestled between two dentils over ME in AMERICA. Sharply struck EDS with smooth fields and well-defined dentils around both sides. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 8 finer for the variety. PCGS #37265. Estimate Value $500 - UP
Ex Chris McCawley 12/20/2011-Gene Heard Collection.
