Lot 178

1838 N-5 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Glossy medium steel brown and chocolate with about 10% of the faded mint red remaining visible on the obverse. Just a few small marks including a pair of tiny planchet chips under the eye, a few tiny nicks on the jaw, and a spot of darker toning right of the D in UNITED. MDS. The diagonal spike from the bottom of the front edge of the coronet is dull but still visible. Our grade is MS60. The attribution and Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer, 1 in 64, 1 in 65, 1 in 66 for the variety. PCGS #37192. Estimate Value $750 - UP
