1797 C-3b R4 Low Head, Lettered Edge VG7. Sharpness VF20 but the surfaces are uneven thanks to several dull dents, mostly near the rims. Traces of shallow pitting can be found on both sides but it is not distracting. Recolored a slightly glossy mix of medium and darker chocolate brown tones. The date is bold, the legends are clear, and the edge lettering is complete (although parts of the letters hang off the edge because they are too tall for the thin planchet). An acceptable if imperfect example of this popular "Redbook" variety.
