Lot 109

1806 C-4 R1 Large Repunched 6 with Stems PCGS graded MS61 Red & Brown. Lustrous light steel brown and tan with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints and frosty mint red covering about 15% of the planchet, mostly on the obverse. The surfaces are satiny and the eye appeal is excellent Would rate a higher grade if not for some tiny very light contact marks scattered over both sides. The only notable marks are a tiny planchet chip near the leaf under the second T in STATES and a thin nick between the tops of the A & L in HALF. E-MDS, Manley state 1.0. The repunching on the 6 is clear and the reverse is rotated 40 degrees CW. The bust tip is softly struck, which is typical for this variety thanks to the rotated dies. Our grade is MS60. The attribution is shown on the PCGS label.
Estimated Value $750-UP.
