1798 S-166 R1 Style II Hair, Large 8. PCGS graded AU-50. Glossy medium chocolate brown with lighter brown toning in protected areas. The obverse is mottled with darker olive brown toning. Essentially void of contact marks. A tiny rim nick at the C in AMERICA and a nick across that M are the best identifying marks. E-MDS, Breen state III early. A second die crack is starting to show inside the E in UNITED, and the first crack is strong. The reverse is rotated 35 degrees CCW. Called EF40 by Bland. Our grade is VF35.
